The Indiana General Assembly approved significant changes to the state's school funding formula as part of House Bill 1001, which establishes the state's biennial budget. The changes approved by the General Assembly will impact the funding for public school corporations and charter schools across the state in the 2015-17 biennium. In its most recent data visualization, the School Finance Team at the Center for Evaluation & Education Policy reviews these changes. The visualization highlights both increases and decreases in state education funding for school corporations and charter schools. Further, it explains changes in calculations for Complexity Grant funding. The visualizations enables residents statewide to see how the approved changes impact their school corporation and to see how funding levels in the new formula compare between corporations and charter schools.
Click on each tab of the visualization presented below to display how the changes will affect funding for each school corporation or charter school. The visualization also enables users to compare funding levels between school corporations and charter schools.
